The mystery item is 'Garbage Bags'!!!!!

The 2011 Elon Innovation Challenge is a fast-paced competition that will challenge student teams to use their creativity to add value using an everyday item. Teams must then convey their results in a short video posted to YouTube. The mystery item will be revealed on November 10 and submissions will be due November 14.

In addition to competing for the top three prizes, participating teams will be awarded audience driven gift prizes. Form a team with your friends and register to compete.

Entrepreneurship is all about leveraging resources and taking action with the goal of creating value.

Judges will select the top three awards. These top 3 teams selected charities will receive a financial contribution. Also, the audience will choose three teams to receive awards!!! Bring your friends to increase your chances of winning the audience prize.

• All college students in North Carolina are encouraged to form teams to take on the challenge. Teams can have up to 10 members.
• Sign up for the Elon Innovation Challenge by clicking here.
• Create a Youtube account where you will upload your video.
• The specific challenge will be revealed on November 10, at approximately 3 p.m. EST.
• Create value using the challenge assigned, document your work, and edit a video that is three minutes or less.
• After you finish your video, upload it to Youtube and give it the tag "2011EIC".
• Submit your Youtube video URL to gpalin@elon.edu
• Video submissions are due by Monday, Nov 14 at noon EST.
• Videos will be evaluated based on the content and creativity, not video production quality.
• All videos will be viewable by the general public.
• Elon Innovation Challenge winners will be announced at the Elon Innovation Showcase on November 16 at 4:30 p.m. in KOBC 101. Teams must have a representative attend the Showcase to be eligible for an audience award.

Awards will be made to registered charities of the top three teams’ choices.
